Could a natural protein protect against dangerous low blood sugar?

NCT ID NCT06470295

First seen Feb 20, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This early-stage study looks at how a protein called C-peptide might help the liver release sugar during low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) in people with type 1 diabetes. About 38 adults with type 1 diabetes will take part to see if C-peptide can boost glucagon, a hormone that raises blood sugar. The goal is to understand the body's response better, not to test a new treatment yet.
