First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at adults in Dorset who visit urgent or emergency care five or more times a year. Researchers will interview patients, carers, and healthcare workers, and analyze data to understand their needs. The goal is to work with the community to design a prevention model that reduces these visits and improves care.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to a new prevention model that reduces unnecessary emergency visits and improves care for frequent users.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage observational study with only 80 participants in one region, so findings may not apply elsewhere. It does not test a treatment.
