Heart mapping study aims to crack the code of stubborn atrial fibrillation

NCT ID NCT07047235

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looks at why some people with persistent atrial fibrillation (a common heart rhythm problem) don't get lasting relief from standard ablation treatment. Researchers will create detailed 3D maps of the heart's electrical activity and scar areas during the procedure. By tracking 160 patients over a year, they hope to learn who needs extra targeted treatment and make ablation more effective.
