First seen Mar 04, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This early-stage study tested a treatment made from umbilical cord stem cells for people with a serious condition called graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), which can happen after a bone marrow or stem cell transplant. The study included 24 adults aged 18 to 75. Researchers gave two different doses to see if the treatment was safe and if it could help control the disease. The goal was to find a safe dose and check for any serious side effects.
