Ultrasound training may boost spinal anaesthesia success

Summary

This study tests whether teaching anaesthesiologists to use ultrasound before spinal anaesthesia leads to better results than the traditional manual method. Forty doctors will be trained using either ultrasound or manual techniques, then perform spinal blocks on patients having leg surgery. The main goal is to see if ultrasound helps doctors succeed on the first try, with fewer needle sticks and higher patient satisfaction.
