First seen Apr 14, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study tests whether a simple ultrasound technique can reliably confirm that a breathing tube is placed in the windpipe (not the food pipe) during surgery. Researchers will enroll 200 adults having scheduled or emergency surgery. The goal is to see if this ultrasound method works as well as the current standard (capnography) and how quickly staff can learn it.
