Summary
This study tested a new way to treat high blood pressure without pills. Doctors used focused ultrasound to modify fat around the kidney in 79 patients with mild hypertension who were not on medication. The goal was to see if this procedure could safely lower blood pressure compared to a sham (fake) procedure.
