This study tested whether a radiation-free ultrasound system can accurately screen for scoliosis in young schoolgirls in Hong Kong, reducing the need for X-rays. Over 400 girls who were recommended for X-ray based on standard screening took part. The goal was to see if ultrasound could correctly identify those who truly needed specialist care, avoiding unnecessary radiation exposure.
