New ultrasound tech could predict amputation risk in leg disease

NCT ID NCT07374601

Summary

This study is testing whether a new type of ultrasound imaging can better predict which patients with peripheral artery disease (PAD) are at risk for serious complications like limb loss or heart problems. Researchers will use this advanced imaging to look at tiny blood vessels in the legs of 300 patients with PAD. The goal is to see if this method is more accurate than current tests at forecasting who might need more aggressive treatment.
