NCT ID NCT07545824

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study will check if measuring belly muscle thickness with ultrasound before surgery can help predict how much opioid pain medicine older patients need after abdominal surgery. Researchers will follow 62 patients aged 65 and older for 24 hours after surgery, recording pain scores and painkiller use. The goal is to find simple ways to personalize pain management for each patient.
