Sound waves aimed at heart attack clots

NCT ID NCT04217304

Summary

This study tested whether using ultrasound waves alongside standard clot-busting drugs could help patients having a major heart attack (STEMI). It involved 41 adults who arrived at the hospital within 6 hours of their symptoms starting. Researchers compared the standard treatment alone to the standard treatment plus the ultrasound procedure to see if it improved blood flow to the heart.
