Ultrasound may make breast cancer lymph node surgery more precise

NCT ID NCT07338721

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a new way to find the first lymph node (sentinel node) during breast cancer surgery. Instead of using the usual armpit hairline as a guide, doctors will use ultrasound to mark the exact spot. The goal is to see if this leads to a smaller cut, less tissue damage, and faster surgery. About 40 adults with early-stage breast cancer will take part.
