First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study compares two types of IV catheters in 104 newborns with congenital syphilis who need 10 days of antibiotics. One group gets a standard short IV placed by a nurse; the other gets a longer IV placed using ultrasound by a specialist team. The goal is to see which type lasts longer without failing, reducing painful re-starts and complications.
