Could a simple scan replace uncomfortable scopes for gut disease?

NCT ID NCT07358923

Summary

This study aims to see if a modified ultrasound method can accurately measure disease activity and severity in people with moderate-to-severe ulcerative colitis. Researchers will follow 25 patients starting a new medication for 24 weeks, comparing ultrasound results to the current standard (endoscopy). The goal is to develop a non-invasive scoring system that could help monitor the condition without frequent, uncomfortable internal scopes.
