NCT ID NCT06955013

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study looks at whether emergency medicine doctors can use ultrasound to clearly see the muscle layers of the belly wall, which is needed for a type of pain block called a TAP block. About 118 healthy adults will have an ultrasound scan of their abdomen. The goal is to see if body size affects the doctor's ability to get a good image, since this has not been well studied in the emergency room.
