First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study looks at whether emergency medicine doctors can get clear ultrasound images of the belly wall muscles needed for a pain-block procedure called a TAP block. Researchers will test this in 118 adult volunteers of different body sizes. No medications are given—just an ultrasound scan to see if the muscles are visible enough for the procedure.
