Sound waves aim to calm stubborn seizures
NCT ID NCT05784805
Summary
This study is testing a non-invasive, focused ultrasound device on patients in the intensive care unit who are experiencing ongoing seizures that haven't stopped with standard medications. The goal is to see if directing gentle sound waves at specific brain areas can reduce or stop the seizure activity. The treatment is given for 10 minutes at the bedside while doctors monitor brain waves.
