Quick scan could help new moms avoid hospital return
NCT ID NCT07167862
Summary
This study is testing a new way to care for new mothers who have preeclampsia, a serious pregnancy condition causing high blood pressure. Researchers will use a quick, bedside ultrasound scan to check for fluid buildup in the body. If fluid is found, doctors will give a water pill (diuretic) to see if it helps blood pressure return to normal faster, reduces the need for long-term medication, and lowers the chance of being readmitted to the hospital.
