New ultrasound helps surgeons see better during endometriosis operations
NCT ID NCT05499884
Summary
This study tested whether using a special vaginal ultrasound during surgery helps surgeons make better decisions. It involved 10 patients with endometriosis affecting the rectum who were scheduled for a specific surgical procedure. The goal was to see if the live ultrasound images could help the surgeon confirm they had removed all the diseased tissue or if they needed to do a more extensive operation.
