Doctors test handheld scanner to pinpoint cause of breathing crises on the spot
NCT ID NCT07104578
Summary
This study is testing if using a portable lung ultrasound machine during emergency calls for severe breathing trouble helps doctors make a more accurate diagnosis and choose the right treatment faster. It involves 40 adult patients with severe shortness of breath who are treated by a specialized emergency medical team before hospital arrival. The main goal is to see if the ultrasound scan improves the rate of patients getting the correct medication for their specific condition right from the start.
