New ultrasound tech aims to make dialysis access safer and faster

Summary
This study is testing a new automated ultrasound system designed to help doctors monitor a special type of blood vessel connection (an arteriovenous fistula) used for dialysis in people with kidney failure. The goal is to see if using this device regularly can help the connection heal and become ready for use more quickly and reliably. About 304 adults with end-stage kidney disease who need this surgery will participate to compare outcomes with and without the new monitoring system.
