Brain-Zapping ultrasound tested as new weapon against opioid crisis
NCT ID NCT04197921
Summary
This early-stage study is testing whether a non-invasive, focused ultrasound device can safely target and influence specific brain areas involved in addiction. The goal is to see if this technology could become a new tool to help people with opioid or other substance use disorders better control their cravings and reduce substance use. The study will enroll 29 participants who are already in treatment programs to primarily assess the safety and tolerability of the procedure.
