Gentler drill? study tests new tool for wisdom teeth
NCT ID NCT07196904
Summary
This study compared two tools used to remove impacted wisdom teeth: a newer ultrasonic device and a traditional rotary drill. It involved 22 young adults who had both wisdom teeth removed, one with each tool. Researchers measured pain, swelling, and a marker of inflammation to see if the ultrasonic tool caused less discomfort after surgery.
