Could a tiny dose of radiation tame skin cancer lesions?

NCT ID NCT03398161

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This phase II trial tests whether ultra low dose radiation can control skin lesions in people with mycosis fungoides, a type of lymphoma. About 50 participants will receive very low doses of radiation to their skin lesions. The goal is to see if this gentler approach works as well as standard radiation but with fewer side effects.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ€” not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
ultra low dose radiation therapy
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a gentler radiation option that controls skin lesions in mycosis fungoides with fewer side effects.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase trial (50 people) testing a lower radiation dose, so it may not work as well as standard doses or may still cause side effects.
