Simple drug may cut bleeding risk during colonoscopy

Summary

This study tests whether applying tranexamic acid (TXA) directly to the colon during polyp removal can reduce bleeding during and after the procedure. About 200 adults having large polyps removed will be enrolled. TXA is a drug that helps blood clot and is already used in other surgeries.
