First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests a two-week intensive outpatient treatment for people with PTSD, combining prolonged exposure and EMDR therapy. Researchers will measure changes in PTSD symptoms, quality of life, and daily function using questionnaires and interviews.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
prolonged exposure and EMDR therapy
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that a short, intensive therapy program effectively reduces PTSD symptoms and improves daily functioning.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 42 participants and no control group, so results may not apply broadly. The treatment is intensive and may not suit everyone.
