Could a shot every 6 months replace daily HIV prevention pills?
NCT ID NCT06513312
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests a new option for preventing HIV: a shot given under the skin every 6 months, called lenacapavir. It compares how well people stick with the shot versus taking a daily pill (Truvada). About 268 people at higher risk for HIV will take part. The goal is to see if the shot is easier to use, safe, and works as well as daily pills.
