New hope for recurrent brain tumors: targeted drug shows promise

Summary
This study tests a drug called tuvusertib in people whose IDH-mutant astrocytoma (a type of brain tumor) has returned after initial treatment. The drug targets a specific genetic change (ATRX mutation) to try to stop the tumor from growing. About 56 adults will take part, and the main goal is to see if more patients are alive without tumor growth at 6 months compared to standard treatments.
