Summary

This study tests whether turmeric (curcumin) can reduce pain and improve function in people with thumb-joint arthritis. One hundred adults will take turmeric capsules for four weeks and a placebo for another four weeks, then compare results. The goal is to see if this common spice offers real relief for a common, painful condition.

What this could lead to

If it works, this could point toward a natural, over-the-counter option for managing thumb arthritis pain.
