First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study aims to translate the Helkimo Clinical Dysfunction Index, a tool used to assess jaw joint problems, into Turkish and check if it is reliable and accurate. Researchers will test it on 48 Turkish-speaking adults with temporomandibular disorder (TMD) by comparing it with other questionnaires and repeating the test after two weeks. The goal is to provide a valid assessment method for Turkish-speaking patients and clinicians.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could provide a reliable Turkish-language tool to assess TMD severity in clinics and research.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage validation study with only 48 participants, so results may not apply broadly. It does not test any treatment.
