Can a 21-Question quiz reveal why people skip exercise?
NCT ID NCT06978686
First seen Aug 28, 2026 · Last updated Aug 28, 2026
Summary
This study translates the Barriers to Being Active Quiz, a 21-item tool from the CDC, into Turkish and checks whether the new version works as well as the original. Researchers will enroll 210 adults who can read and write Turkish and ask them to complete the quiz. The goal is to see if the Turkish version reliably measures seven common barriers to physical activity, such as lack of time, energy, and willpower. If it works, the quiz could help health professionals in Turkey identify why people are inactive and tailor support accordingly.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- What this could lead to
- If the Turkish version proves reliable, doctors and public health teams in Turkey could use it to spot why people stay inactive and design better exercise programs.
- What could go wrong
- This is a validation study, not a treatment trial. The quiz may not translate perfectly, and results from one group may not apply to all Turkish speakers.
