Lab-Grown tumor clusters could speed up cancer drug discovery

NCT ID NCT06782451

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study takes small pieces of tumors from 50 patients who have certain genetic changes (mutations) and grows them in the lab as 3D cell clusters called spheroids. Researchers will then test different cancer drugs on these spheroids to see which ones work best. The goal is to create better ways to predict how tumors will respond to treatments, but participants will not receive any direct benefit from this research.
