Experimental cell therapy takes on tough leukemia
NCT ID NCT07572136
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 01, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This early-phase trial tests a new treatment called TSLPR-CART for adults with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) that has come back or not responded to treatment. The therapy uses a patient's own immune cells, modified in a lab to target a protein called TSLPR found on cancer cells. Up to 57 participants will receive chemotherapy followed by the modified cells to see if it is safe and what dose works best.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
TSLPR-CART cells (modified immune cells) plus chemotherapy (cyclophosphamide and fludarabine)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a new treatment option for people with hard-to-treat B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia that has not responded to standard therapies.
What could go wrong
This is a very early Phase 1 trial with only 57 participants, focused on safety and dosing. The treatment may not work, and there are risks from chemotherapy and the modified cells, including severe side effects.
