One shot to smooth scars? new trial begins
NCT ID NCT07474467
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests a single injection of TRTP-101, a biological treatment, to see if it safely improves atrophic scars (like acne scars). Thirty-one adults will receive the injection on one side of their face and a placebo on the other, with neither they nor their doctors knowing which is which. The goal is to measure scar improvement and any side effects over several months.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
TRTP-101 (a biological injection)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a new, one-time treatment to reduce the appearance of atrophic scars.
What could go wrong
This is an early, small trial (31 people) testing safety and effectiveness. The treatment may not work better than placebo, and there is a risk of side effects like skin reactions.
