Tiny cell particles injected into scars may boost healing
NCT ID NCT07569666
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether injecting exosomes—tiny particles from cells that help repair skin—can improve depressed scars better than a saltwater placebo. Twelve adults with atrophic scars will receive both treatments on different scars, without knowing which is which. The goal is to see if exosomes safely make scars look and feel better.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a new, natural way to improve the look and feel of depressed scars.
What could go wrong
This is a very early, tiny trial with only 12 people. It may not show a clear benefit over saline, and results may not apply to everyone.
