First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tested a new imaging probe (TTP-ICG) that makes cancer cells glow under a special camera. After removing breast tissue or lymph nodes, doctors soaked the samples in the probe and checked for leftover cancer at the edges or in lymph nodes. The goal was to see if this method can help surgeons remove all cancer the first time and avoid extra surgeries. The study involved 59 women with breast cancer.
