New chemo combo may boost breast cancer remission before surgery

Summary
This study tests whether adding capecitabine to standard carboplatin-based chemotherapy before surgery can improve the chance of eliminating all cancer in the breast for people with early triple-negative breast cancer. About 325 adults with ER-negative, HER2-negative breast cancer that has spread to lymph nodes or is larger than 2 cm are participating. The main goal is to see if the combination leads to a higher rate of complete response at the time of surgery.
