New ultrasound-guided procedure may offer better relief for stubborn trigger finger

NCT ID NCT05045157

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a minor ultrasound-guided procedure to cut the tight pulley in the finger, followed by a steroid injection, works better than a second steroid injection alone for people with trigger finger that didn't improve after the first shot. About 50 adults with persistent symptoms will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatments. The goal is to see which approach more effectively resolves pain and finger locking.
