New hope for transplant patients: immune cell therapy targets stubborn graft-versus-host disease

NCT ID NCT06991361

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 24, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This early-phase study tests whether a single dose of specially grown regulatory T cells, combined with daily low-dose interleukin-2, can safely treat chronic graft-versus-host disease (cGvHD) in people whose condition did not improve with steroids or IL-2 alone. About 21 participants aged 2 and older who have had a stem cell transplant will receive the treatment. The main goal is to check for side effects and find a safe dose.
