New hope for liver cancer patients: drug may fight appetite loss

Summary

This study tests a drug called nanocrystalline megestrol acetate to see if it can help liver cancer patients who are losing weight and have poor appetite. About 88 people with advanced liver cancer that cannot be removed by surgery will receive either the drug or a placebo. The goal is to improve their quality of life during cancer treatment.
