Ultrasound could replace colonoscopies for Crohn's patients on new drug

NCT ID NCT07308067

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study looks at how fast risankizumab (Skyrizi) heals all layers of the gut in people with Crohn's disease. Instead of repeated colonoscopies, researchers use intestinal ultrasound to check healing at 4 and 12 weeks. About 109 adults starting risankizumab in routine care will take part. The goal is to see if ultrasound can reliably track deep healing, which may lead to better long-term outcomes and fewer hospital visits.
