Brain zaps for shoulder pain? study pulled before starting

NCT ID NCT05951933

First seen Jun 13, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study aimed to see if adding a gentle electrical brain stimulation (a-TES) to a standard shoulder exercise program could improve pain, function, and quality of life in people with subacromial pain syndrome. Participants would have done 8 weeks of shoulder exercises, with some receiving real brain stimulation and others a fake version. However, the trial was withdrawn before enrolling anyone, so no results are available.
