Organ transplant trial targets rare abdominal cancer

NCT ID NCT06084780

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tests whether replacing the intestines or multiple abdominal organs can help people with a rare cancer called pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) that cannot be removed by standard surgery. About 20 participants will receive a transplant and be followed for 12 months to see if they survive and how safe the procedure is. The goal is to control the disease, not cure it, as lifelong anti-rejection medication is needed after transplant.
