Heart health on a plate: can traditional navajo meals keep patients out of the hospital?

NCT ID NCT06549699

Summary

This study tested whether providing home-delivered, heart-healthy meals that include traditional Navajo foods could help people with heart failure stay healthier and avoid hospital visits. For 60 days, 206 participants either received these specially prepared meals or continued with their usual care. Researchers measured whether the meal program reduced emergency room visits and hospitalizations, while also looking at heart health, diet quality, and cultural connection.
