Can stretching the spine ease chronic back pain for people with obesity?
NCT ID NCT04507074
Summary
This study tested whether a month of spinal traction therapy could reduce pain and improve function for adults with obesity and chronic low back pain. Researchers compared 40 participants with obesity to 20 with normal weight, measuring pain levels, spine mobility, and blood markers of inflammation before and after treatment. The goal was to see if this physical therapy approach could provide relief by gently decompressing the spine.
