First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study looked at whether gentle spinal traction (a pulling force on the spine) can reduce pain and improve movement in people with obesity and chronic low back pain. Forty-nine adults aged 35–60 took part, some with obesity and some with normal weight. They received 30 minutes of traction daily for 4 weeks. Researchers measured pain, disability, and blood markers of spinal damage before and after treatment.
