First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looked at 77 adults in the intensive care unit who needed a tracheostomy (a breathing tube through the neck) while on a ventilator. Doctors used either a camera (bronchoscopy) or ultrasound to guide the procedure. The goal was to see how each method affected breathing and blood gas levels during and after the procedure. The results may help doctors choose the best guidance technique for future patients.
