First seen Nov 03, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study tested a personalized online tool called TRACH-Support that helps families and medical teams decide whether to use a tracheostomy (a tube in the throat) for patients who need long-term breathing help. 105 family members and healthcare providers used the tool and gave feedback through surveys and interviews. The goal was to see if the tool was easy to use and helpful, not to change any treatments.
