Drug holiday study tests break from sarcoma treatment

NCT ID NCT01303094

First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study looked at whether taking a break from the chemotherapy drug trabectedin (a drug holiday) is as safe and effective as continuing treatment without a break in people with advanced soft tissue sarcoma. Fifty-three adults whose cancer had not worsened after six cycles of trabectedin were randomly assigned to either keep getting the drug or stop temporarily. The main goal was to see how long patients lived without their cancer growing over the next 24 weeks.
