NCT ID NCT05780567
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This Phase III trial tests whether adding the experimental drug TQB3616 to standard hormone therapy can help prevent breast cancer from returning in women with HR-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer after surgery. About 1,946 women will receive either TQB3616 or a placebo, plus hormone therapy, for several years. The study tracks how long participants remain cancer-free and monitors side effects.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
TQB3616 (a CDK4/6 inhibitor) combined with endocrine therapy (letrozole, anastrozole, or tamoxifen)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a new option to help prevent breast cancer from coming back after surgery in patients with HR+/HER2- disease.
What could go wrong
This is a Phase III trial, but results are not yet available. The drug may cause side effects and may not prove more effective than current standard care.
